Chemical dosing valves
that replace the pulsing pump.
Precision dosing valves that replace pulsing pumps with steady, accurate, repeatable dosing. Supplied, installed and supported by AQUAIOT across the UK and Ireland.
The case for change
Why engineers are ditching small dosing pumps
Peristaltic and diaphragm pumps pulse, lose prime and rely on dosing tubes that perish. The MAC double-diaphragm dosing valve works against line pressure with zero tubing and no pulsation, so dosing is accurate and repeatable.
Pulsation errors costing you compliance
Stroke-based pumps create pulsation at low flows, causing dosing inaccuracy, downstream mixing problems, and dose logs that cannot be defended in an audit.
Tubing failures and unplanned downtime
Peristaltic tubing splits under chemical exposure. Every failure means a reactive call-out, replacement parts, and a window where dosing has stopped entirely.
High maintenance across multiple failure points
Check valves, diaphragms, tubing, and motors all need regular servicing. Each failure point is a separate maintenance task and a separate cost line.
Accuracy drift as components wear
Pump accuracy degrades as internals wear. The further from original design point, the worse the drift, and the harder it is to keep dose logs within spec.
Engineering architecture
Four precision advantages inside every MAC Liquid Bullet Valve
Hover each capability to see the system respond in real time.
Dual D-Flex Diaphragm
Media contacts only the diaphragm faces and valve body. No sliding seals, no o-ring rub, no tubing in the flow path. Chemical isolation by design.
Balanced Poppet
Upstream pressure variation is equalised at the seat. Dosing volume per pulse stays consistent regardless of supply fluctuations, over the full life of the valve.
High-Speed Solenoid Actuation
On/off switching, pulse-width modulation, or proportional control. Fast cycling creates near-continuous micro-dosing from a valve-sized footprint.
Manifold Integration
A single block serves multiple dosing channels from one connection point, replacing the wiring, tubing, and floor space of individual pump assemblies.
Smart dosing integration

Chemical dosing valve questions
Browse the cluster
Dosing valves by application
Every duty where chemical goes into a pressurised line.
Cooling towers
Precise biocide, scale and corrosion dosing for cooling towers. A MAC dosing valve holds residuals steady between readings and supports your Legionella regime.
Water treatment plants
Flow-proportional coagulant, pH and chlorine dosing for water treatment plants. A MAC dosing valve holds residuals steady across the works, with no pump to lose prime.
Wastewater treatment
Accurate ferric and polymer dosing for wastewater treatment. A MAC dosing valve helps hold tight phosphorus consents and cuts the overdose that pumps encourage.
Food, beverage and CIP
Repeatable sanitiser, caustic and acid dosing for food, beverage and CIP. A MAC dosing valve holds concentration every cycle, with no tubing to perish and no pulsation.
Commercial swimming pools
Stable chlorine and pH dosing for commercial pools. A MAC dosing valve holds free chlorine residual between readings and supports PWTAG-aligned plant records.
Boiler feedwater
Oxygen scavenger, phosphate and amine dosing into feedwater at pressure. A MAC dosing valve holds the dose per pulse steady, so the boiler is protected without the overdose that drives blowdown.
Drinking water treatment
Disinfection and pH correction dosing for potable supply, at the works and at booster points on the network. A MAC dosing valve holds a steady dose, so the residual at the extremity is not bought with an overdose at the front.
Breweries
Caustic, acid, sanitiser and liquor treatment dosing for breweries. A MAC dosing valve gives the same dose on every CIP cycle, with no squeeze tube perishing next to your product lines.
Dairy processing
Caustic, acid and sanitiser dosing across dairy CIP circuits. A MAC dosing valve holds wash strength on every set and logs the dose, so the food safety plan has evidence rather than an assumption.
Irrigation and fertigation
Nutrient and acid dosing proportional to irrigation flow. A MAC dosing valve keeps dose per pulse steady while line pressure moves, and tells you the same day when an injection fails on a remote block.
Car wash sites
Detergent, wheel cleaner and wax dosing per wash cycle. A MAC dosing valve doses into the pressurised line at the same volume every cycle, so chemical cost tracks wash counts instead of drifting.
Commercial laundry
Detergent, alkali, bleach and sour dosing per wash programme. A MAC dosing valve repeats the dose across machines, so the result does not depend on which washer the linen went into.
District heating
Inhibitor and biocide dosing straight into a pressurised heat network. A MAC dosing valve doses against the loop pressure, so treatment stops being a pot, a visit and a slug of chemical nobody metered.
By chemical
Dosing valves by chemical
The dosing problem each chemical creates, and how the valve answers it. Body and elastomer are selected per duty with an engineer.
Sodium hypochlorite
Accurate sodium hypochlorite dosing without the vapour lock and prime loss that defeats metering pumps. A MAC dosing valve doses into a pressurised line, with the right materials.
Chlorine dioxide
Chlorine dioxide is generated on site, dosed in small volumes and off-gasses as it goes. A MAC dosing valve meters it into a pressurised line, so the gas never collects where the dose is made.
Caustic soda
Sodium hydroxide is thick, it drops crystals when the chemical store gets cold, and those crystals settle in the small valves inside a metering pump. A MAC dosing valve doses it into a pressurised line with no check valves to gum up.
Ferric chloride
Ferric chloride is dense, aggressive and it deposits on everything it passes through. A MAC dosing valve doses it flow-proportional into a pressurised line, so you hold the phosphorus consent without the blanket overdose a drifting pump invites.
Polymer
Flocculant polymer is viscous and shear-sensitive, and a pulsing pump tears the chains it is meant to deliver. A MAC dosing valve gives steady, non-pulsed delivery into the line, so the polymer arrives intact.
Antiscalant
Antiscalant runs at very low, continuous rates, and on many skids the smallest stroke a metering pump can make is bigger than the dose you actually want. A MAC dosing valve meters micro-litre volumes into the pressurised line.
Biocide
Cooling systems need a steady background biocide and a controlled shock dose, and both have to be evidenced. A MAC dosing valve delivers each accurately and logs every dose event against the sensor reading.
Sulphuric acid
Sulphuric acid is dense and hazardous, and nobody wants a perishing tube next to it. A MAC dosing valve doses into a pressurised line with no tubing and far fewer wear parts, while holding pH trim steady.
Hydrogen peroxide
Hydrogen peroxide decomposes and releases oxygen, and that gas collects in a pump head until the dose stops arriving. A MAC dosing valve doses into a pressurised line, where there is no suction stroke for the gas to fill.
Citric acid
A membrane clean or a CIP acid stage is only worth what it repeats. A MAC dosing valve delivers the same citric acid dose every cycle and logs it, so each clean can be validated rather than assumed.
Compare
Dosing valve vs dosing pump
How valve dosing compares with the pump you already own, and where a pump is still the right answer.
Dosing valve vs dosing pump
How the two compare on pulsation, prime, wear parts, and where a pump still fits.
Dosing valve vs peristaltic pump
Tube life, split tubes and roller pulsation, compared against a valve with no tube.
Dosing valve vs metering pump
Check valve fouling, lost prime and stroke calibration drift, put side by side.
Replace a dosing pump
The tank, the suction line, the controller and the analyser all stay. The pump comes off and a MAC dosing valve goes on the same line, provided there is pressure to dose into.
Pulsation free dosing
Pulsed dosing arrives as slugs between sensor readings, so the controller keeps correcting for a picture that has already moved. Steady delivery holds concentration where you set it.
Pump free chemical dosing
If the line already carries pressure, you do not need a machine to make more of it. A MAC dosing valve meters chemical into the pressure that is there, with far fewer wear parts.
Proportional dosing valve
Drive the valve from a flow signal, a residual reading or a PWM output and the dose follows demand pulse by pulse, up and down, without anyone walking out to turn a dial. Set a pump to a stroke rate and it doses the same amount whether the line is at full flow or barely moving.
Chemical injection valve
A chemical injection valve meters into a pressurised main under process control. Solenoid actuated, driven from your signal, with the body and elastomer chosen for the duty.
Chemical metering valve
A chemical metering valve delivers a repeatable volume on every pulse, held steady by a balanced poppet, so the dose you commissioned is the dose still going in months later. Stroke-based metering asks a mechanism to be the measurement.
By role
Dosing valves by role
Same MAC valve, framed for the person who owns the outcome.
Facilities managers
Fewer reactive call-outs, dosing you can evidence, and one less thing failing across your sites. A precision dosing valve that supports your water hygiene and Legionella records.
Estates and maintenance
A dosing point that stops failing, so planned maintenance stays planned. No tubing to perish, no pump to re-prime, and a straight retrofit onto the existing line.
Water treatment engineers
Accurate, flow-proportional dosing with stable residuals and clean integration. A balanced poppet holds dose per pulse consistent, with PWM or proportional control and matched materials.
Compliance and SHEQ
Defensible, logged dosing evidence for HSE, ACOP L8 and audits. A precision dosing valve holds the dose, and AQUAIOT telemetry records every dose, alarm and trend.
Operations directors
Lower chemical spend, fewer incidents and a dosing setup that stops surprising you. Accurate, evidenced dosing tightens both the cost line and the risk line across your sites.
