ATEX Zone 1 & 2 Non-Contact Radar Encrypted Telemetry UK Deployed

Liquid and fluid monitoring for
hazardous environments

Continuous level sensing for flammable liquids, fuels, and process fluids on petrochemical plants, fuel storage depots, and ATEX-classified sites. Real-time visibility without anyone entering the zone.

Monitoring active. Tank level, telemetry, and alerts updated in real time.

The challenge on hazardous sites

Reactive monitoring on ATEX infrastructure carries real operational and safety risk

Manual dipping in classified zones

Physical tank gauging puts personnel in or near ATEX Zone 1 and Zone 2 areas for every routine reading.

No real-time overfill visibility

Without continuous level data, overfill events can escalate undetected until a spill or incident occurs.

Late detection of leaks and failures

Bund breaches, drainage issues, and pipe failures are discovered after the fact, not before damage spreads.

Fragmented compliance records

Disconnected paper logs and spreadsheets make audit trails slow to produce and difficult to defend.

AQUAIOT gives your team continuous remote visibility of liquid levels, flammable fluid inventory, and drainage assets, without anyone entering the zone for a routine check.

AQUAIOT Radar Level Monitoring

Continuous level measurement. Zero intrusion into the vessel.

The AQUAIOT radar sensor mounts above the tank hatch opening and transmits microwave pulses downward to measure liquid level continuously. No components contact the stored media. Data transmits via encrypted 4G or LoRaWAN to your cloud dashboard, with alerts configured to your thresholds.

Real-time continuous readings

Level data streamed live to cloud dashboards. Threshold alerts sent via SMS, email, or app when levels breach configured limits.

Encrypted cellular telemetry

4G or LoRaWAN transmission with encrypted payloads. Gateway installed in the safe area, outside the classified zone boundary.

Cloud dashboard and audit trail

Role-based dashboards, trendlines, alerts, exports, and compliance records. API integration with SCADA, DCS, AIMS, and CAFM.

What AQUAIOT monitors

Monitoring across your full liquid and fluid infrastructure

From flammable liquid level sensing and bund monitoring to process fluid quality and pipe flow, AQUAIOT covers the complete scope of liquid-related monitoring on industrial and fuel sites.

Level monitoring and overfill alerting

Non-contact radar level sensing for fuel tanks, chemical storage vessels, bunds, sumps, and drainage assets. Automated threshold alerts before critical levels are reached.

  • Continuous liquid level readings across tanks and bunds without manual dipping
  • Overfill and low-level threshold alerts via SMS, email, and app
  • Flood risk alerting for drainage channels and surface water
Radar level monitoring

Leak detection and pipe monitoring

Early detection of liquid ingress, bund breaches, and pipe anomalies across plant infrastructure. Real-time alerts before damage escalates.

  • Moisture sensing and flow anomaly detection on live pipework
  • Automated escalation alerts and optional isolation valve triggering
  • Covers plant rooms, pipe runs, bunded areas, and drainage channels
Leak detection

Flow metering and fluid quality

Non-invasive clamp-on flow metering for live pipework with no pipe cutting. Process fluid and effluent quality monitoring for operational compliance and visibility.

  • Clamp-on ultrasonic flow meters, DN8 to DN100, no system shutdown
  • Night-flow profiling for leak detection evidence and fluid balance reporting
  • Fluid quality parameters including pH, turbidity, conductivity, and dissolved solids

Frequently asked questions

Questions we get asked most

Can AQUAIOT radar sensors be used on ATEX-classified tanks?

AQUAIOT radar sensors mount above the tank opening in a non-contact configuration. The sensor does not touch the liquid or vapour space inside the vessel, reducing the risk profile for installation on ATEX Zone 1 and Zone 2 classified infrastructure. Our engineers assess each site individually to confirm suitability.

Does the sensor need to enter the tank or contact the fuel?

No. AQUAIOT uses non-contact radar measurement. The sensor is mounted above the hatch opening and transmits microwave pulses downward to measure liquid level. There are no components in contact with the stored liquid or vapour at any point during normal operation.

How does telemetry work on fuel storage and petrochemical sites?

Data is transmitted via encrypted 4G cellular or LoRaWAN to the AQUAIOT cloud platform. The gateway is installed in a safe area outside the hazardous zone. All payloads are encrypted end-to-end with over-the-air configuration and firmware management.

Can the monitoring system integrate with our existing SCADA or DCS?

Yes. AQUAIOT supports RS485/Modbus for direct on-site integration, plus cloud API connections for SCADA, DCS, AIMS, CAFM, and third-party analytics platforms. Integration scope is confirmed at the site survey stage.

What engineering support does AQUAIOT provide for industrial sites?

AQUAIOT provides end-to-end delivery including site survey, installation, commissioning, cloud dashboard setup, alert configuration, training, and ongoing engineering support. Most sites go from first contact to live dashboards in two to four weeks.
