What is a Legionella alarm system?
A Legionella alarm system continuously checks water temperatures against set thresholds and raises an immediate alarm when a reading crosses the line or an expected action, such as a flush, is missed. Rather than waiting for a periodic round to discover a problem, the system pushes the warning out the moment it happens so action can begin straight away.
How quickly are alarms raised?
In real time. Because AQUAIOT monitors continuously, a threshold breach or missed flush triggers a notification immediately, not at the next scheduled check. Alerts go out by SMS, email, and app, so the warning reaches the responder whether they are at a desk, on site, or away.
What happens if the first person does not respond?
The alarm escalates. AQUAIOT supports role-based routing and escalation rules, so if the first responder does not act within the expected window, the alert passes to the next person or team. This closes the gap where a single missed notification becomes an unmanaged risk.
Can we set different thresholds for different assets?
Yes. You set thresholds per asset, so a cold water storage tank, a calorifier return, and a sentinel outlet each alarm against the temperatures appropriate to them. Your duty holder defines the limits in line with HSE guidance, and AQUAIOT alarms against exactly those values.
Are alarms recorded for the audit trail?
Yes. Every alarm is logged with a secure timestamp alongside the reading that triggered it and is exportable on demand.
