Drinking water quality monitoring.
Protect the supply from
treatment to the tap.

Continuous monitoring of pH, free chlorine, turbidity and colour across potable water assets. Catch the chemistry drift, residual loss and clarity changes that periodic sampling misses, before they reach the consumer.

What you can’t see
is already costing you.

Reactive call-outs

Issues are flagged after damage is done, not before it starts. Every delayed alert is a cost you didn’t have to carry.

Fragmented compliance

Manual records, missed checks, and audit gaps across sites. When an inspector asks for evidence, the scramble begins.

Hidden drift

pH, chlorine, or turbidity can shift for days or weeks before anyone notices. Without real-time monitoring, you’re always reacting.

Continuous monitoring.
Instant alerts. Full audit trail.

Three connected layers that turn raw sensor data into actionable intelligence, automatically.

1. Monitor

Connected sensors stream real-time data across all parameters, 24 hours a day. Cellular and LoRaWAN telemetry with encrypted payloads.

2. Alert

Threshold breaches trigger instant SMS, email, or app notifications. Escalation rules and role-based routing ensure the right person acts.

3. Respond

Cloud dashboards give your team the data, trendlines, and records they need, instantly. Every reading logged, every action auditable.

Every parameter.
One connected system.

From standard chemistry to full-spectrum UV-Vis sensing, AQUAIOT covers every dimension of water quality your operation demands.

SPS-pH Water Quality Sensor
pH
SPS-pH Sensor

Continuous acidity and alkalinity monitoring. Detect corrosion risk, Legionella-risk conditions, and treatment performance drift.

Optimal drinking water pH: 6.5–9.5. Drift outside this range signals treatment failure or infrastructure issues.
SPS-T-SC1 Turbidity Sensor
Turbidity & Suspended Solids
SPS-T-SC1 Sensor

Detect particulate contamination, filter breakthrough, and process upsets in real time.

Turbidity spikes are often the first indicator of pipe disturbance, contamination ingress, or treatment failure.
SPS-CI Free Chlorine Sensor
Free Chlorine
SPS-CI-C Sensor

Continuous disinfection residual monitoring. Ensure treatment efficacy without manual sampling delays.

Chlorine residual below 0.1 mg/L creates microbial risk. Continuous monitoring catches drops before they become incidents.
SPS-DO Dissolved Oxygen Sensor
Dissolved Oxygen
SPS-DO Sensor

Monitor oxygen levels critical for biological process control, aeration efficiency, and environmental compliance.

Low DO in wastewater systems indicates biological stress; in distribution it can indicate contamination ingress.
SPS-EC Conductivity Sensor
Conductivity
SPS-EC Sensor

Track dissolved mineral content and detect contamination events, cross-connections, or treatment changes in real time.

Sudden conductivity changes are a rapid indicator of intrusion, saline ingress, or chemical contamination.
SPS-F Full Spectrum Water Quality Sensor
Full-Spectrum UV-Vis
SPS-F SpecSens Sensor

Specsens UV-Vis sensing at the edge. Detect organic load, humic substances, and complex contamination signatures beyond single-parameter sensors.

Full-spectrum sensing captures richer water quality signatures, ideal for source water characterisation and treatment optimisation.
SPS-Color-C Colour Sensor
Colour
SPS-Color-C Sensor

Detect apparent and true colour changes that may indicate natural organic matter, iron, manganese, or treatment by-products.

Colour is a key aesthetic and compliance parameter, continuous monitoring prevents visible discolouration events reaching consumers.
SPS-ORP Water Quality Sensor
ORP
SPS-ORP Sensor

Oxidation-reduction potential monitoring for disinfection effectiveness, redox conditions, and process control in treatment and distribution.

ORP is a direct measure of disinfection power, falling ORP values indicate that treatment residual is being depleted.

Potable water has to be right every minute, not at the next sample.

Drinking water quality is judged continuously by the people who drink it, but it is usually measured only periodically. Between grab samples, a chlorine residual can decay below the microbial risk point, pH can drift outside the optimal 6.5 to 9.5 range and raise corrosion risk, turbidity can climb after a pipe disturbance, and colour can creep up from iron and manganese. The first sign is often a complaint or a failed sample rather than an early reading.

AQUAIOT monitors the parameters that define potable safety together and continuously. Free chlorine on the SPS-CI-C sensor, pH on the SPS-pH, turbidity on the SPS-T-SC1 and colour on the SPS-Color-C all stream to one cloud platform over secure cellular or LoRaWAN telemetry. Threshold alerts reach the right person by SMS, email or app, and every reading is logged, so the evidence the Drinking Water Inspectorate and your own duty holders expect is generated as a by-product of monitoring.

  • Continuous pH, free chlorine, turbidity and colour on one timeline
  • Threshold alerts before residual loss or clarity change reaches consumers
  • Audit-ready records generated automatically across every site
  • Retrofit-friendly sensors for live potable assets, no shutdown needed

Drinking water monitoring questions

Which parameters matter most for drinking water?
Free chlorine confirms disinfection residual, pH governs corrosion and treatment performance, turbidity flags clarity problems and ingress, and colour catches the iron, manganese and organic issues consumers notice first. AQUAIOT monitors all four continuously on one platform so they can be read together.
Does this replace regulatory sampling?
No. Statutory sampling regimes still apply and the duty holder retains regulatory responsibility. Continuous monitoring closes the blind spots between samples and gives you a timestamped evidence trail, but AQUAIOT supplies the data, it does not set or guarantee compliance limits.
How does it relate to the Drinking Water Inspectorate?
DWI expectations sit behind drinking water duty holders in England and Wales. AQUAIOT provides continuous, exportable records that support the evidence those duty holders need, while the responsibility for meeting standards stays with the water supplier or operator.
Can it cover multiple sites?
Yes. The platform scales from a single asset to estate-wide and multi-site potable networks, with role-based dashboards, trendlines and alarms so each team sees the sites it owns.
