Hydrogen Peroxide Dosing

Peroxide off-gasses.
Your dosing should not care.

Hydrogen peroxide decomposes and releases oxygen, and that gas collects in a pump head until the dose stops arriving. A MAC dosing valve doses into a pressurised line, where there is no suction stroke for the gas to fill.

The case for change

Why peroxide costs a pump its prime

Hydrogen peroxide breaks down into water and oxygen, and it does that faster in a warm plant room or a contaminated line. The oxygen collects at the high point of the pump head, the suction stroke draws gas instead of liquid, and the prime is gone. The pump keeps running and the dose does not arrive.

01

Pulsation errors costing you compliance

Stroke-based pumps create pulsation at low flows, causing dosing inaccuracy, downstream mixing problems, and dose logs that cannot be defended in an audit.

02

Tubing failures and unplanned downtime

Peristaltic tubing splits under chemical exposure. Every failure means a reactive call-out, replacement parts, and a window where dosing has stopped entirely.

03

High maintenance across multiple failure points

Check valves, diaphragms, tubing, and motors all need regular servicing. Each failure point is a separate maintenance task and a separate cost line.

04

Accuracy drift as components wear

Pump accuracy degrades as internals wear. The further from original design point, the worse the drift, and the harder it is to keep dose logs within spec.

Smart dosing integration

How AQUAIOT connects MAC valves to your water system

From sensor input to auditable dose log, in four steps.

1

Monitor

AQUAIOT sensors measure flow, conductivity, and water quality in real time. Data streams to the edge controller continuously.

2

Decide

Cloud logic and local edge rules calculate the dosing requirement against set-points, flow conditions, and time windows.

3

Dose

The MAC LBV fires precise solenoid pulses. Pulse width, frequency, and duration are all configurable from the AQUAIOT dashboard.

4

Prove

Every dose event is logged with timestamp, volume and sensor context. If delivery falls away, the record shows it as it happens rather than at the next residual check.

Integration and control

Built for your existing infrastructure

SCADA and BMS

MODBUS RS485 and API connections. Direct integration with existing control systems without replacing your architecture.

Closed-loop dosing

Flow, conductivity, or quality sensor feedback adjusts dosing in real time. No manual trim, no operator intervention.

Compliance logging

Timestamped peroxide dose records with alarms on missed delivery. Exportable evidence for your disinfection and water quality reporting.

4G and LoRaWAN

Secure cellular telemetry. Encrypted payloads, over-the-air configuration, remote firmware updates.

PWM and proportional

On/off pulse, pulse-width modulation, or 0-10V / 4-20mA proportional control from one valve platform.

Cloud dashboard

Trendlines, alarms, analytics, role-based access, and data export from the AQUAIOT platform.

Peroxide duty

Where hydrogen peroxide dosing fits

Disinfection, oxidation and sanitisation duties where lost prime is the recurring failure. Part of the full chemical dosing valve range.

Hydrogen peroxide dosing

Doses into a pressurised line, so the oxygen peroxide releases has no suction stroke to fill and no prime to break.

Dose events are logged, so delivery that falls away raises an alarm instead of surfacing at the next residual check.

Disinfection

Sodium hypochlorite

Accurate hypochlorite dosing without vapour lock or prime loss.

Chlorine

Biocide

Shock and continuous biocide dosed accurately and logged for the regime.

Legionella control

Water treatment plants

Flow-proportional coagulant, pH and chlorine dosing for stable residuals.

Common questions

Hydrogen peroxide dosing valve questions

Because it decomposes into water and oxygen, and that oxygen gathers in the pump head. The suction stroke then draws gas rather than liquid, and the dose stops arriving, usually without the pump giving any sign. Dosing into a pressurised line removes the suction stroke, so the gas has nowhere to sit and stall the dose.
Strength changes over time, so a fixed volume does not always mean a fixed amount of active chemical. The valve gives a repeatable volume per pulse, and with telemetry and a residual sensor you can trim the rate and log what was dosed as stock strength moves. Storage conditions and stock rotation still matter.
That is the practical difference. A pump that has lost prime looks exactly like a pump that is working, so the failure surfaces at the next test. The valve is far less prone to gas locking, and telemetry logs each dose event, so missing delivery raises an alarm rather than waiting for a sample to catch it.
The valve body and elastomer are selected specifically for this duty. Peroxide decomposition is affected by what the liquid touches, so confirm concentration, temperature and stabiliser with an engineer before the build is fixed. AQUAIOT specifies the valve against your actual duty.
BV214 and BV221 cores cover micro-litre to low-L/min dosing at up to roughly 8 to 10 bar, depending on orifice, body and elastomer selection.
The balanced poppet equalises upstream pressure variation, so dose volume per pulse stays consistent regardless of supply fluctuations, unlike a pump that drifts with wear.
There is no tubing to replace, no check valves to service and no motor wear. Cartridge-replaceable internals mean field service without removing the valve from the manifold.
Yes. MODBUS RS485 and API connections for SCADA, BMS, CAFM and the AQUAIOT cloud platform, with closed-loop control from flow, conductivity or water quality feedback.
